On October 29, the Nanjing Office of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) visited the Nanjing Pilot Free Trade Zone, joined by delegates from the Coordination Bureau of the Pilot Free Trade Zone.
The delegation visited the Nanjing Innovation Center of China Future Internet Engineering Center (CFIEC) and National Health and Medical Big Data (Eastern) Center to learn about the unique practices of the Nanjing Area in information technology, biomedicine and other industries.
A meeting was then held both online and offline in Nanjing and Hong Kong simultaneously. The two sides discussed institutional innovation and other topics in Nanjing. Representative of the HKTDC in Jiangsu Zhang Xia introduced the functions and work of the HKTDC and suggested that the HKTDC and the Nanjing Area should pursue common development by integrating the platform of the HKTDC with the industrial characteristics of the Nanjing Area.
Zeng Shiyun, Assistant Chief Economist of the Greater China Region of the HKTDC, talked via video connection. The two sides also conducted in-depth discussions online and offline on the lessons learned from the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area for the development of the Nanjing Area.
In the future, the Nanjing Area will further draw on Hong Kong’s experience in building a free trade port and an international center for trade, finance and service industry, strengthen cooperation and exchanges in trade and investment facilitation, business environment, etc. and achieve win-win development in modern service, integrated circuits, biomedicine and other high-end industries.
