Recently, ceremony marking the beginning of Digital Trade Capital building and research on world digital trade competitiveness index in China (Jiangsu) Pilot Free Trade Zone Nanjing Area was launched. In line with the focus on digital trade, efforts will be invested in accelerating the development of digital economy, promoting innovation breakthroughs and international cooperation in the field of digital economy and digital trade, and exploring new path for innovation-driven growth to facilitate high-quality development of the digital economy as new and strong momentum for sustainable economic growth. 

During the ceremony, the Implementation Plan for Building the Digital Trade Capital and Ten Measures on Digital Trade Development were put forward as guidance for future development. Based on the plan, the Nanjing Area will focus on strengthening science and technology, system, pattern, and business form innovation and enhancing its capacity in digital technology innovation. It is expected that through all these efforts, its digital technology application capability will be improved, the integration of digital technology and trade will be deepened, and the trade structure, pattern and capacity will be upgraded as the foundation for a digital trade capital with desirable business environment, unimpeded flow of elements, and efficient allocation of resources.

A number of projects, including the global cross-border digital trade pivotal port project, Jinling Gangbaowang eco-development project, and the digital trade eco-partnership project were signed. Jiangsu Maritime Safety Administration-Jiangbei New Area Pilot Free Trade Zone Service Innovation Center and Jiangsu Silk Road Digital Economy Vocational Training School were unveiled as strong support for the development of digital trade capital.
