On the afternoon of March 17, Nanjing Jiangbei New Area (Pilot Free Trade Zone) New Medicine and Life & Health Industry Shanghai Promotion Conference was held in Shanghai Pudong New Area. Luo Qun, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Nanjing Municipal Committee and full-time deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee of Nanjing Jiangbei New Area, addressed the meeting, while Chen Chanmei, member of the Party Working Committee of Nanjing Jiangbei New Area and deputy director of Nanjing Jiangbei New Area Administrative Committee, delivered a keynote speech.

Luo Qun said in his speech that as a national-level new area, Nanjing Jiangbei New Area, like Shanghai Pudong New Area, is a comprehensive functional platform to undertake the strategic tasks of national development, reform and opening up, shouldering the national mission of exploring the road for reform, breaking through the barrier for development and demonstrating modernization. In the past five years, Nanjing Jiangbei New Area has actively laid out the landmark industry of “Two Towns and One Center (a gene town, a chip town and a new financial center)”, and unswervingly followed the new path of integrating innovation and industry.

During the promotion, Chen Chanmei introduced Nanjing Jiangbei New Area (Pilot Free Trade Zone) to the guests in detail as the Area features a transportation hub, ecological greening, a talent hub and innovative development. She said that as the core area for the development of Nanjing’s life and health industry, Nanjing Jiangbei New Area (Pilot Free Trade Zone) has built a life and health industrial chain with the whole cycle from API to new drug creation to medical service application and healthcare big data. At the end of last year, the income from the main businesses of life and health industry in Nanjing Jiangbei New Area exceeded RMB 100 billion, and the industrial scale increased by over 50% for five consecutive years.

During the promotion conference, speakers also introduced and explained to the guests the institutional innovation and policy system of China (Jiangsu) Pilot Free Trade Zone Nanjing Area, and a series of measures taken by Jiangbei Office of Jinling Customs to support the high-quality development of life and health industry in Nanjing Jiangbei New Area (Pilot Free Trade Zone).

At the event site, Fan Guohuang, Chairman of Immunophage Biotech (IMP) Co., Ltd., Ying Wei, Managing Partner of CDH WM Team, Managing Director of CDH Investments, and Wang Zaiqi, Founder of InxMed, made keynote speeches. They called themselves “Jiangbei Investment Attraction Volunteers”, shared their personal experiences in the development of Nanjing Jiangbei New Area (Pilot Free Trade Zone), and rooted for the life and health industry in Nanjing Jiangbei New Area.
