Officials from Guangdong Department of Commerce and GDPFTZ Office visited Nanjing Area


 

The delegation headed by Zhang Jinsong, Director General of Guangdong Department of Commerce and Director of Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone (GDPFTZ) Office visited China (Jiangsu) Pilot FTZ Nanjing Area on the morning of March 9, accompanied by Zhao Jianjun, Director General and Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce, Jiang Xin, Deputy Director General of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce, and Lin Qikun, Member of the CPC Working Committee of Nanjing Jiangbei New Area and Deputy Director of Administrative Committee of the New Area.

The delegation visited Nanjing GemPharmatech and Nanjing Innovation Center of China Future Internet Engineering Center (CFIEC). Zhang Jinsong said that medicine and life & health are the key landmark industries in Nanjing. The Pilot Free Trade Zone Nanjing Area invigorates local industries by deepening reform and gathers elements through institutional innovation, thus provides a sound eco-environment for the development of the medicine and life & health industries. Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone will strengthen communication with the Nanjing Area. In spite of the differences between the two areas, they can learn from each other on general matters and policy-making and work together to deepen reform and innovation. At the Nanjing Innovation Center of China Future Internet Engineering Center (CFIEC), Zhang Jinsong affirmed the research results of the Nanjing Area in key areas of the Internet, saying that free trade can support technological development, while technologies can empower free trade. The Nanjing Area has accumulated abundant experience in a short period of time, which is worthy of recognition. At present, the Nanjing Area is embracing a major development opportunity of the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region, while Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone also faces a historical mission to promote the integrated development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The Pilot Free Trade Zones should take advantage of integrated development and innovation, improve their services, speed up the implementation of supportive policies and measures, bring benefits to more surrounding areas to spur the sustainable economic and technological development of the whole region.
